MR. AND MRS. FRED D. SAILER
Fred Sailer was born in South Russia to David and Louisa Hiltz Sailer. He came to America with
his parents and six brothers and one sister in 1903.
Freida was also born in South Russia. Her parents were Fredrich and Christina Ritzer Walth. She
has four sisters and three brothers.
Fred and Frieda were married on March 24, 1925. They settled on the farm where his father had
homesteaded. They waited two years before starting their family. Emil was born
Sept 2, 1927. Fifteen years later a baby girl joined the family, Louise, born Feb. 21, 1943. Louise
was a healthy baby.
Fred and Freida moved in to Hebron in December of 1954 and did some “sidewalk” farming for
several years. At the present time they rent the acreage to Gotthilf Siewert.
On July 7, 1962 Louise was married to Roger Roth of Glen Ullin. They live 14 miles southwest
of Glen Ullin. Fred and Freida are now blessed with five grandchildren: three girls: Kim, 13,
Correne, 12, Rhonda, nine and two boys: Corey, seven and Darcey, three years old
Emil was born handicapped and now resides in the Marion Manor Nursing Home at Glen Ullin
since Dec. 1976. Before that time he was at home with his parents. Now he is happy in his new
home.
