THE JACOB REICH, JR. FAMILY
Jacob Reich, son of Jacob Reich Sr., was born in February 1888. He married Emma Jose,
daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Jose in the fall of 1909. They made their home with his wife's mother
for a few years and then took over the farm located NW¼ of the SE¼ Section 8, 137-91, later
known as the Jacob Reich farm.
Seven children were born in this family. They were Benjamin, Asaph, Frieda, Roland, Herman,
Harold, who died as a child and Erna who also died as a child.
In the fall of 1944 they sold their farm to Matt Berger and the family moved to California and
made their home in Lodi. Mr. Reich still lives there. His wife, Emma, died on April 22, 1960,
and Mr. Reich has remained a widower.
The children, Benjamin, Asaph and Herman, also live in Lodi. Roland lives in or near Tracy,
Calif., and Frieda and her husband, Harold Grieff, live in the Oakland area.
Mr. Berger sold the farm a few years later. The farm is vacant and some of the buildings were
removed.
