HEINRICH LUITHLE
Heinrich Luithle was born March 16, 1887 in Odessa, Russia. He came to the United States with
his parents at an early age. He homesteaded in Stark Co. on (28-137-91) in 1907.Feb. 22, 1907 he was married to Lydia Metzger. They had a family of two girls and three boys.

One girl died at the age of nine years. His daughter, Emma, lives in Billings. A son, Jakie —
deceased; his family lives at Underwood. A son, Henry, deceased — his family lives at Billings.
A son, Carl, lives at Glen Ullin, N.D. His wife, Lydia, passed away in 1931.

In 1932, Heinrich was remarried to Mary Kessler. They had one son, Lloyd, who is a pastor of an
Assembly of God ChurchMr. Luithle was active in all county and state activities. He served as an election clerk for many years, also school clerk of Heart River School Dist. for many years. In 1918 he served as an inspector for the service of the U.S. Army, inspecting homes, checking flour and sugar on hand at each home — a very worthy cause.

He was the neighborhood butcher while on the farm, helping them put up their meat. He was
active in the church for most of the years he lived on the farm. He also acted as auctioneer at
different gatherings where funds were raised for missions. As his own mission offering, he once
paid full tuition for two young men to go through Bible school and never told them of it.
Mr. Luithle had the privilege of attending Congress one winter as a guest of a congressman from
Dickinson. He was admired and respected by all who knew him.

He retired in 1949, selling the farm to Christof Luithle, living in Glen Ullin until 1958. After his
wife died, he moved to Billings and lived with his daughter, Emma, for five and one-half years.
Then he moved to Bismarck to the Baptist Home for the Aged. Mr. Luithle passed away in 1967
at the age of 80 years.
