PAUL ENZI FAMILY
Carl Enzi was born in South Russia in 1895 and came to this country with his parents and 4
brothers in 1898. They lived in South Dakota first, later coming to Stark County and setting up
homesteads. Carl homesteaded on Section 14-Township 137-Range 91.
Carl was married in 1917 to Sophie Schurgorski and they farmed this land for 26 years, then
retired to Hebron They raised eight children:
Erna of Bismarck; Luella, Leona, Elsie, Albert, Walter, all of Manteca, California, and Martha of
Fairfield, and Paul, on the farm at Richardton.
Carl passed away in 1948 and Sophie passed away in 1977.
Paul was born and raised on this home place where he took over in 1956. In 1957 he was married
to Shirley Lapp of Hebron. They have four children: Del-mar, age 19, born in Oct. 1957; Steven,
age 17, born in June, 1959; Carla, age 15, born in Sept 1961, and James, age 4, born in
December of 1972.
They went into the dairy business in 1976 and the boys are helping their father on the farm. The
children attend the schools in Hebron and are transported by bus.
