OTTO HEINLE
Otto, son of Phillip and Julia (Walter) Heinle, and from a family of fifteen sons and one
daughter, was born Dec. 3, 1887 and grew up south of Hebron, N.D. When he was about 14
years old he left home to work for his living, to the Jacob Mutchelknaus farm, until spring of
1910 when he homesteaded on N.W. of section 2, township 137, range 91. He then met
Katherina Fehr, who migrated from Worms, South Russia about a year earlier. They married Oct.
25, 1910 and nine children were born: Louise (Mrs. Art Frey), Emanuel, both of Hebron; Hilda
(Mrs. Walter Kuntz) of Billings, Mont.; Alvina (Mrs. Art Krein); Willie both of Richardton;
Anna (Mrs. Teophil Auch) of Dickinson; Gertrude (Mrs. Albert Idler) of Seattle, Wash.; Ester
(Mrs. Elvin Striha) of Butte, N.D. and one son who passed on in infancy.

Their first wheat crop consisted of 22 bushels of wheat, because the sod first had to be turned
over and prepared for a seed bed. Also the necessary buildings for a farm had to be built.
Otto passed away Sept. 7, 1946, his wife May 1, 1974. Both are buried in the Baptist Cemetery,
south of Antelope, N.D.

Willie is the owner of this farm and ranch.
