HENRY SABO FAMILY
Henry Sabo, rural farmer and dairyman, was born on a farm six miles southeast of Lefor He attended a rural school nearby and also St. Elizabeth's school in Lefor.

His parents were Mr. John L. Sabo and Mary Burger Sabo. Their family consisted of seven children: Anna, born June 1, 1907 wife of George Krau-ter; Betty, born June 15, 1911, wife of George Ger-ber; Frank, born Sept. 27, 1914, married to Helen Lindemann; Mary, born April 9, 1916, wife of Frank Lindemann; Henry, born Jan. 27, 1922; John, born June 10, 1924, and Margaret, wife of Oscar Lowry, born May 9, 1926.

At the age of 20 he was drafted by the U.S. Army and spent three and one-half yrs. In active combat in World War II in Europe, as a radio operator and interpreter. Upon his return he attended Hanson Auto School in Fargo and later was employed by the Koffler Garage in Dickinson.

On March 31, 1948, he entered marriage at St. Joseph's Church with Emelia Joan Heilman, born July 15, 1926, daughter of Lawrence Heilman and Mary Eva Keller.

Mrs. Sabo's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Heilman were blessed with 13 children: Phillip, born Jan. 13, 1911; Margaret, born Dec. 21, 1915, wife of Jack Koffler; Casper, born Nov. 5, 1919, married to Lucille Holzemer; George, born May 20, 1922, married to Carol Geiser; Magdaline, born June 8, 1924, wife of Anton Zentner; Emelia, born July 15, 1926, wife of Henry Sabo; Joseph, June 2, 1929, married to Agnes Miller; Tillie, born April 23, 1932, wife of Fred Jordan; Marie, born July 9, 1934, wife of Robert Dean; John, born March 15, 1936, married to Marge Geiser; Pauline, Oct. 15, 1938, wife of Robert McDougall; Florence, June 24, 1941, wife of Ervin Heidecker; and Irene, born Feb. 6, 1945, wife of Larry Praus.

Mrs. Henry Sabo attended Versippi Consolidated School and upon graduation taught a rural school for two years prior to her marriage.

Mr. and Mrs. Sabo first lived on a farm near Golva, N.D. for one and one-half years then moved to their present farm 13 miles northeast of Dickinson, Township 140, Range 95. They rented the Ed Culver farm for ten years and then purchased the land and have remained there since, farming and dairying, being Grade “A” producers. Mr. Sabo was a member of the Versippi School Board and A.S.C. Committeeman for many years.

Mr. and Mrs. Sabo were blessed with eight children: Kenneth, born Jan. 8, 1951, employed at General Steel and Supply Company and married to Connie Koffler, nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital; Mary Kay, born Aug. 10, 1952, wife of James Frank, machinist at General Steel and Supply Co.; Kathy, born June 24, 1953; Lawrence, born Sept. 16, 1955, married to Patricia Keidel and employed at Clay's Standard; Jeanne, born Dec. 28, 1956; Sharon, born June 15, 1959, wife of Randall Ulmer, employed at Hersruds; Gary, born April 23, 1962, and Donald, born Nov. 29, 1966.

All their children except Donald attended Versippi School; the six oldest graduated from Trinity High School. Gary is a freshman at Trinity and Donald is in the fourth grade at St. Joseph's School. Kenneth and Lawrence attended Wahpeton State School of Science. Katherine and Jeanne attended Dickinson State College. Mary Kay worked at St. Joseph's Hospital for two and one-half years before her marriage. Katherine is employed as a receptionist for Dr. Ebel at Watford City, N.D. Jeanne is a secretary at Kilwein Lumber Co.
