WILLIAM SEVERSON FAMILY
William Severson was born in Dunn Center, N.D. April 29, 1914, son of Sever and Johanna (Martin) Severson. His mother had come from Germany with a sister Mina (Mrs. Alton Fisher of Halliday) 1903. Johanna worked in Taylor at the Fred Dohrmann and Milton Bobb, Sr. homes. After her marriage to Sever they made their home near Dunn Center. William's mother died when he was about one year old. He spent the next five years with his grandparents, the Henry Martins of Halliday. When he was of school age he was taken to live with the Fred Dohrmann family who lived west of Taylor on the present Clarence Dohrmann farm. He graduated from Taylor High School 1933. He attended college at Dickinson, NDSU at Fargo and LBI in Minneapolis. He also worked for an ice company in Fargo.

1940 he bought his present farm home four miles northwest of Taylor, where he has been farming since that time.

He has been active in the church, including teaching Sunday School in the United Church of Christ in Taylor, drove school bus for 13 years, and was a charter member of the Taylor Lion's Club. He has been actively involved in Gideons, PTA and Family Bible Camp.

Dec. 19, 1943 he married Shirley Reetz of Hebron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gustav Reetz of Farmer's Valley. She graduated from Model High and Dickinson State College. She taught a short time in Hettinger and for the past 13 years has taught fifth and sixth grades in Taylor Public School.

Their children are Sherman, Kenneth, Donna, Rebecca and Carol. They have all graduated from Taylor High School.

Sherman attended Dickinson State College and NDSU at Fargo and the University of North Dakota and graduated from a San Antonio, Tex. Medical school. He is married to Louisa Dohrmann of Taylor. They have two children, Jessica and Liza. They live in Rugby, N.D. where he is a psychiatrist at the Rugby Medical Center.

Kenneth graduated from St. Paul Bible College, majoring in Christian education. He worked as youth director in a Presbyterian Church, Duluth, Minn, for three years and is now in Lima, Ohio as an inter-city camp director and superintendent of Children's Chapel. He married Sandra Johnson, of Hopkins, Minn. They have three children, Nathan, Sarah and Ryan.

Donna attended St. Paul Bible College. She lives in Jersey Shore, Pa., where her husband, Earl Peace, is a minister in the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. They have three children, Matthew, Rebekah and Rachael.

Rebecca graduated from St. Luke's School of Nursing, Fargo, N.D. She is presently a registered nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital in Dickinson. She is married to Ken Elkins of Taylor. They reside on a farm southwest of Taylor.

Carol has attended Mayville State College and Dickinson State College. She is presently working part time at the Day Care Center in Dickinson.
