MARTIN AND LENA SEVERSON
Martin and Lena Severson lived on a farm three miles east of Taylor where he was a grain grower and raised cattle for a livelihood. They had come to North Dakota from Iowa. It is believed by some that both had a homestead at one time but after their marriage settled on Martin's land. They had no children and were known to be very ambitious. Lena would help him with his work and he lent a hand to the work indoors. The house and dooryard were immaculate at all times. She especially loved chinaware and her buffet was always displaying some handpainted or cut glass piece which was always a conversation point when guests came to visit. She was also a dressmaker.

They were very friendly neighbors and enjoyed especially to entertain at dinner when the table would be laden with good Scandinavian dishes. She also enjoyed entertaining the young people of the community who were home for their summer vacations.

Lena was born in 1870 and died Aug. 17, 1935 and was buried from the Taylor Lutheran Church and is in the Taylor Cemetery.

Martin later married Mrs. Carl Viden and they lived in Richardton. Martin was born in 1879 and died in 1951 and is buried in Taylor Cemetery.
