REDEEMER LUTHERAN CHURCH
Redeemer is affilated with The Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod. This synod was founded by German immigrants to the U.S. and originally served the Germanic peoples. But like America itself, which became a melting pot of all ethnic groups, the Missouri Synod today is made up of all ethnic groups: the Missouri Synod today is made up of over three million souls of all races and ethnic backgrounds.
From 8th Ave. West, Redeemer moved to a new house of worship on the corner of 3rd and Sims. The building there was formerly the parish hall of St. John's Episcopal Church. This new house of worship was dedicated Dec. 4, 1949, during the pastorate of Rev. Martin H. Werfelman. The building served the congregation until 1963 when a new building was erected at 10th Ave. West and Fairway.

Under the effective leadership of Rev. E. Heintzen the church grew out of its small worship facilities on Sims Street. The pastor and a building committee began looking for a place to expand. Rev. Felix Rubbert, executive secretary of the N.D. Dist. Of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, met with the building committee and with financial aid from the district, the church purchased a three and one-half acre city block in the golf course addition. Feb. 24, 1963 the congregation had its first worship service in the new fellowship unit; and May 19, 1963 the dedication services were held for the $80,000 unit.

Pastors serving at Redeemer Lutheran Church from 1930 include: Rev. Henry J. Weseloh, Rev. Marcus Wolfram, Rev. Martin Werefelman, Rev. C. E. Huber, Rev. Kyle H. Kiefer, Rev. M. Mueller, Rev. Eric Heintzen and Rev. Marvin Otto. Serving as current Pastor is Rev. Garland Wittmayer, who came in 1970.

Redeemer's present membership stands at 349 baptized souls and 258 communicant members.
