WILLIAM JESPERSON FAMILY
William Jesperson was born at Taylor on Nov. 2, 1923 to Jasper and Frances Breckon Jesperson, the second child in a family of six children. He lived with his family on the farm six miles southeast of Taylor, N.D. He attended a rural school, then Taylor High School, graduating from there in 1941. He attended NDSU for a time also.
In 1945 he was married to Irene Schatz, daughter of Andreas and Theresa Isaak Schatz. Irene was born Jan. 6, 1926 at Antelope. She attended rural school and high school at Glen Ullin and Taylor, graduating in 1943. She also attended DSTC and taught rural schools for about two years.
After their marriage they lived on the Levi Jesperson farm for six years. In 1956 they bought the farm from his father (23-139-93) and have continued to live there raising beef cattle and grain. Irene and Bill have always been active in the community and especially in the Taylor Lutheran Church and in the Gideon work. After an illness of ten years, Irene passed away in 1975.
Their family consists of two children. Joanne was born May 19, 1954 and is married to Mick Bentley. They live in Ottawa, Ill. Paul was born on Oct. 23, 1956 ana is presently operating the family farm
