KRANK GENERATION
Michael Krank was born in Speir, Russia, 1860. He married Rosie Engel in Russia and immigrated to the U.S., 1893, where he landed at Gretna Port May 18, 1893 along with his wife and seven children who were Philip, Christian, Perpetua, Wilkelmenia, Francis, John and Pete. At that time he also met his brother Frank Krank who had immigrated from Hungary.

Michael Krank went west and settled in Stark Co. by Richardton for a short time and in 1897 homesteaded Sec. 6, T. 137, R. 96, Stark Co.

Michael Krank became a citizen of the U.S. Sept. 28, 1900 and his wife and children automatically became citizens.

Nov. 22, 1914 Michael Krank died from a heart attack at age 54. Surviving him are his wife Rosie Engel Krank and children: Philip Krank (37), Dickinson, Christian Krank (35), Dickinson, Perpetua Krank Cooper (33), Dickinson, Wilkelmenia Krank Gress (31), Richardton, Francis Krank Ziegler (27), Dickinson, John Krank (25), Dickinson, Pete Krank (22), Dickinson, Jacob Krank (20), Monica Krank 17 and Angelina Krank (17) which were all at home.

After the death of Michael Krank the homestead was then farmed by Jacob Krank, the youngest son of Michael Krank.

Christian Krank born in 1879 and died April 17, 1958 homesteaded Sec. 6, T. 137, R. 96 in 1909.
Christian Krank married Anna Mary Heiser, daughter of Pete and Bridget (Messer) Heiser, Jan. 20, 1908. They had 12 children: Rose, Margaret, Clementine, Mary, Steve, Anna, Frank, Casper, Martin, Joe, Michael and Richard.

Rose Krank was born Jan. 30, 1909 died May 10, 1961. She married Tom Roache and moved to Rugby, N.D. for a short time and then moved to Seattle, Wash, where she spent the rest of her life. Two children were born to Rose and Tom Roache, Colleen and Bonnie.

Margaret Krank born Jan. 11, 1910 died June 7, 1962. She married Joe Hirsch, November, 1934 and they lived in Dickinson until 1954 and at that time they moved to Billings, Mont. along with their two children, David and Charleen.

Clementine, born May 27, 1911, joined the order of the Benedictine Sisters and lives in Watertown, S.D.

Mary Krank born Oct. 16, 1912 died May 7, 1973. She married Joe Ehresmann on Aug. 15, 1938 and they lived in Dickinson until the 1950's then moving to Billings, Mont., where Joe worked for the Ford Motor Co. One child, a son was born to them. Ronald now lives in Dayton, Ohio.

Steve Krank born Oct. 8, 1914 died May 20, 1976. Steve joined the army air force in 1942 to 1944. After the service he attended school then moved to Seattle where he worked for Boeing as a heavy duty mechanic and then moved to Los Angeles, Calif, and then moved back to Dickinson a few years before he died.

Anna Krank born Sept. 10, 1916 married Mike Jahner of Scheffield. They farmed ½ mile east of Scheffield until the mid 1950's then moving to Wyoming with their five children: Elaine, Kenneth, Bob, Arlene and Diane.

Frank C. Krank was born Oct. 2, 1919. March 20, 1942 he went into the army air force and served time during World War II until Dec. 2, 1945. He married Florence C. Johnson of Regent, N.D. Dec. 30, 1945 and they made their home on Sec. 6, T. 137, R. 96, the former homestead of Christian Krank. They had three children: Duane born June 5, 1946, Connie born August 30, 1951 and Dale born March 10, 1955. Duane married Linda Olheiser of Amidon Sept. 28, 1973 and they are making their home in Dickinson. Connie is also making her home in Dickinson and Dale is farming on his father's farm.

Casper Krank, born October 7, 1921, attended school in Scheffield and joined the navy in 1944 until 1946 and at that time moved to Seattle where he married Oct. 12, 1949. Casper and Betty had five children, Lynn, Larry, Janice, Sharon and Donald.

Martin Krank,born August 21, 1923, married Elsie Hauck Aug. 31, 1948. They made their home on the original homestead of Michael Krank until 1959 when their home burned and they moved to Dickinson to live, but are still farming Their children are Ervin of Bismarck, Renee of Bismarck, Bruce of Dickinson, Sheilia of Bismarck, Cindy, Thomas and Scott at home.

Joe Krank, born March 6, 1925, married Dorothy Thielen June 10, 1948. They made their home on the Thielen farm west of Gladstone. They have six children, Marvin, Edward, Gary, Kevin, Lornia and Russell.

Michael Krank, born Oct. 11, 1926, attended schools in Scheffield, Assumption Abbey of Richard-ton and Minneapolis. He was ordained a priest on June 2, 1952 and is presently at Hague, N.D.
Richard Krank, born on Jan. 2, 1936, attended schools Scheffield and Dickinson. 1954, he joined the army and for a short time after being discharged he lived in Dickinson then moving to Dallas, Tex. And in the mid 1960's he moved to Rockford, 111. where he married and has three children. He is affiliated with the Super Value Stores, Rockford, 111.
