MIKE AND MARY KRUG
Mike Krug was born Feb. 23, 1890, to Anna Just and Nickalous Krug. His wife, Mary, was born May 3, 1898 in Chicago 111. to Nina Gaylord and Frank Gillenberg.
Mike came to United States in 1904. He came to Cincinnati, Ohio where he spent three years. He homesteaded in Montana. In 1910 he came to Gladstone, N.D. His occupation was carpentering which he learned in the old country. He built numerous barns and homes in Gladstone and in the Hirschville territory.
Mike and Mary Krug were married in Gladstone Feb. 2, 1916. In the year of 1918 he started as railroad foreman which he did for 14 years. He was stationed in Gladstone, Antelope, Taylor and Golva. In 1932 he left the railroad and moved to a farm 13 miles north of Taylor. In 1937, they moved on another farm north of Taylor which is now known as the Herb Urlacher farm. Leaving there they moved two miles north of Regent in 1945. They later sold out their farm at Regent and retired to Yakima. After 14 years they came back to Regent where Mike passed away March 7, 1976, at the age of 86. Mary makes her home in her trailer house on the Edward Honeyman farm at Regent, N.D. The children of Mike and Mary are: Nick, born Dec. 31, 1916, at Gladstone. He is a World War II Veteran, married Delores Underland Dec. 26, 1947. They live at Helena, Mont. They have three children: Sonja, Yolanda and Jolene and two grandchildren. Elizabeth, born July 8, 1918 at Gladstone. She married George Rohr at Richardton on Oct. 17, 1939. They have seven children: Harry, Marybeth, Georgelynne, David, Terrance, Norene and Mike. They have 20 grandchildren and live on a farm near Lefor Mary was born at Gladstone, Oct. 13, 1920. She married Frank Meyer on Oct. 14, 1940 at Yakima, Wash. They have three children: Ronald, Kathlene and Shirley and seven grandchildren. They reside at Yakima, Wash. Eleanor was born at Taylor, Dec. 5, 1923. She married Edward Honeyman on Nov. 19, 1947 at Regent. They have three children. Marilyn, Holly and Wayne and five grandchildren. They reside at Regent. John was born at Taylor, June 29, 1926. He married Florence Kouba at Regent, Sept. 13, 1948. They have three children: Sharon, Curtis and Judy and four grandchildren. They reside at Mott, N.D. Louis was born Sept. 13, 1928 at Taylor. He married Loretta Martin at Lefor, June 10, 1953. They have seven children: Doretta, Rodney, Vona Lee, Laura Jean, Pamela, Ronald and Robert. They have one grandchild. They reside in Missoula, Mont. Frances was born Jan. 26, 1931 at Taylor. She married Fred Marshall on July 17, 1965. They have two children and make their home in Yakima, Wash. Mike was born Sept. 20, 1933, at Taylor. He is a World War II veteran. He married Evelyn Waddell at Mott, July 24, 1956. They have six children: Jackie, Patrick, Mary Jo, Kevin, Charlene and Jeremy. They live at Bucyrus, N.D. Joe was born Jan. 14, 1940 at Taylor. He married Ramona Paul at Yakima on Nov. 25, 1963. They have two children, Tim and Joylynn. He was divorced and married Jan Batrum on Nov. 25, 1972. They reside at Yakima, Wash.
