MAHLON R. EVERETT FAMILY
Mahlon Everett was born in Dickinson, the son of William R. and Daisy (Gerlich) Everett.
He attended grade and high school in the Dickinson Public Schools. He attended the Dickinson Normal School and graduated a Civil Engineer from the University of N.D. in 1935.

As an engineer he was employed by the State Highway Dept., the U.S. Biological Survey and the U.S. Engineers. It was while he was so employed in 1940 that he married a teacher, Jane Roberts of Amidon, N.D. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Harry Roberts. In 1941 he accepted employment with the Bureau of Reclamation on the Central Valley Project in California and lived at Fresno, Calif. During World War II he was stationed at Port Hueneme, Calif. Working for the U.S. Navy as a construction engineer.

At the close of the war and upon the death of his father, he returned to Dickinson, where he assumed the managership of the family owned Everett Real Estate and Loan Company.

The Everetts have three children: Karlin, Mrs. Paul Kathrein. They have two children and her husband is an optometrist and they live at Great Falls, Mont. William R. Everett II is married to Kathleen Gray of Stanley, N.D. They have two sons and they reside in Dickinson. Bill is a graduate of the University of N.D. in business and geology and he is the present manager of the Everett Real Estate and Everett Oil Properties of Dickinson. A daughter, Mary, is married to Joseph Kubik who is a lawyer in Dickinson. They have farming interests and they reside in Dickinson. They are the parents of two children.
