ABRAHAM A. KNUDSON
Abraham A. Knudson, “Abe”, was born near Harmony, Minn. on Sept. 23, 1871. He was the son of Knud Knudson I and Gunhild Stanger Knudson. When he was 16 years old he came to Taylor with his parents; brothers John, Andy, Martin and a sister, Annie. They located on a homestead six miles south of Taylor. When Abe became 21 he homesteaded west of his father's farm, Sec. 28, T. 139 R. 93. This is now the home of his nephew, Arnold Knudson.
Abe owned and operated a threshing rig for many years. He did blacksmithing at his farm home. He was also interested in photography, doing his own developing. Some of these photos are keepsakes of relatives.
When Abe's father passed away his mother made her home with him until her death in 1919. Abe never married. He did some farming and raised cattle and horses, his brand being 2-2 (two bar two).
Due to ill health he spent several years at St. Benedict's Home for the Aged in Dickinson. He passed away July 6, 1958 at the age of 86 years. He is buried in the Pioneer Cemetery south of Taylor.
