THE CHRISTIAN WILL FAMILY
Christian Will was born April 27, 1880 in Johannastal, South Russia to Christian and Elizabeth Landseidel Will. Christian grew up in the old country and attended school there. He herded cattle because there were no finces at that time. Christian was in the Russian Army for a short time. His mother passed away when he was 13 years old.

At the age of 20, Christian and Jacob Smith decided to sail to America. They went by ship for about three weeks, finally arriving in New York. From there the two friends traveled to North Dakota.
Christian worked on the railroad around Eagles Nest. His dad, brothers and sisters came to America about 1902 and homesteaded about four miles southwest of Glen Ullin.

In 1904 Christian was married to Christina Schneider.

Christina Schneider was born Oct. 5, 1884 to Philip and Elizabeth Muelbier Schneider in Johannastal, South Russia. They came to America in 1893 and settled on a homestead about 11 miles southwest of Hebron, where Bennie Schenider now lives.

In 1905 Christian Will and his wife Christina moved to a homestead 16 miles southwest of Hebron on Sec. 26 — T. 138 — R. 91. They built a sod house with a sod roof. In 1915 they built a wood house.
To this family were born five sons and three daughters — Adolph, Lena, John, Henry, Edwin, Emil, Adeline and Edna. Emil died in infancy. The children all live in North Dakota.

Christian and his wife farmed and also raised cattle, horses, pigs, chickens, turkeys, geese and ducks. They retired in 1924 and moved to Hebron.

Christian died March 24, 1944 and his wife died 1946.
